The Longhorns basketball club was established on the 15th of feb 2003 by Manyang G. Berberi. The club has gone on to produce some of the most talented players in Melbourne. A lot more have gone on to play High school and college basketball in the United States. A couple have played in the NBA and NBL (National Basketball League).

Longhorns Basketball Club is located in the western suburbs of Melbourne (Sunshine). We have junior teams that play in the Maribyrnong Basketball Association league on Saturdays and Senior teams that play in the CYMS basketball Association competition on Sunday nights at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC). The club works hard to produce elite basketball players that can play at the next level. The importance of Education for junior players is emphasized at the club.

We want to help as many young people as we can. We want to use basketball as a vehicle to keep them engaged at they’re free time. We also assist them in getting a student athlete scholarships, to further their education for free at the University (Collegiate) level.
